This practical and innovative course is a great opportunity for those with a passion for comedy acting and performance to enhance their skills and put them into practice. Funny Theatre is designed to offer a challenge for both new and experienced performers and actors under the tutelage of experienced professionals.
Topics covered include improvisation, masks, physicality, voice projection, emotions, imagination, what makes an audience laugh and how to build on that magic something that makes each of us uniquely funny. Participants will learn how to work closely with other performers or solo on stage, whilst delving into their subconscious and enjoying the unexpected results. The course will focus on style and comic timing, the importance of staying natural in front of an audience and the perils of stereotyping and cheap laughs!
With an emphasis on creativity and fun, Funny Theatre will culminate in a live performance in front of invited friends, family and casting agents at the Lost Theatre in Wandsworth.
The course will be led by Keith Palmer, Director of the Comedy School.
