The Comedy School presents

with Luke Sorba

More Dates Coming Soon

At the Comedy School in Camden, London.
15 Gloucester Gate, London, NW1 4HG.

Immerse yourself in a full day's unique experience and training in both long and short form improvisation. Luke Sorba brings his 25 years of performing and teaching experience to help you master the skills required for extended advanced improvisation in two different formats.

After a quick recap of the principles you will master a selection of more challenging impro games drawn from the full palette of formats - Verbal, Physical, Narrative, Solo – as well as a session of free improvisation – Fishbowl, from Nothing, Themed.

The technical difficulty will be higher than usual and include Improvising with No Suggestions, Multi-Person games (rather than the usual 2 person) such as 4-Way Dubbing and the mind-spinning Backwards Game.

The emphasis will be on thinking fast and getting to the point and by the end of the workshop you should feel confident enough to plunge into any short form Jam.

You will also cover long-form formats, looking at getting started, plotting, rhythm, characterization - distinguishing between lead, supporting and drop-in characters; provoking tilts (breaking the routine), raising the stakes, re-incorporation and finding endings. Not only will you become comfortable stretching into longer narratives, you will also learn how to import these skills back into short form.

"Brilliant, 10 out of 10, wouldn’t change a thing"
