The Comedy School presents

Compère, Hosting & MC Workshop
with Leo Muhammad

New Dates Coming Soon • 10am to 5pm

Price: £50

At the Comedy School in Camden, London.
14-15 Gloucester Gate, London, NW1 4HG.

The Course is about learning the skills of a Compère/MC/Host - and understanding the critical ROLE of a Compère/MC/Host.

It's who the audience sees first - the one who opens the show.

The Compère/MC/Host creates and sets the right atmosphere according to the needs of the program.

A good or bad Compère/MC/Host can be the difference between a mediocre or great event.

The role of the Compere/MC/Host is often overlooked, underestimated, ego-driven or missed-judged, leading to extremes of embarrassment or worse, offensive behaviour.

The part of Compère/MC/Host is a balancing act between visibility and invisibility, steering and managing the show but not upstaging the other performers.

Compèring/MC'ing/Hosting, is about great timing and employing the attitude of "less is more", then finally, there is the art of closing a show.

Is this for me?
The course is aimed at anyone over the age of 16 irrespective of Academic background with a genuine interest in developing the skills and stagecraft for Compering/MC’ing/or Hosting various stage shows or other audience centred events.
